o Tips for Frugal Living!
n All
frugality experts shop for food no more than once a
week to save time and
money and avoid waste. Check store ads
and coupons for the week’s best
deals, plan your meals, make a
list and stick to it. This takes an hour or
so a week to organize,
and a couple more to shop around. It’s worth it,
though: the more
organized you are, the less you shop; and the less you shop,
the
more time and money you save.
n Pay attention to how you spend your loose change. Limit
the amount of cash and coins you carry, and you’ll plug one of
the
biggest financial leaks in most Americans’ pockets. My own
personal
tip here is to have a Piggy bank! I actually collect pigs
of all
sizes, sorts and shapes- so I actually have a “Piggy” piggy
bank! I
have made it a habit to clean all the loose change out
of my purse several
times a week, and deposit it at the Piggy.
You will be amazed at the
money you can save (not to mention
saving your back from lugging around all
that change!). I let it
pile up, and set some time aside on a rainy
day for a family
“roll the change day”. We have used the change to
fund
vacations and large, fun purchases that seemed to come from
no
where, just by emptying pockets and purses. You will be
surprised how
much money you can set aside, with a little bit of
attention to what could
have been lost
money.
