Empowered Pathways provides professional Safety and Crisis Intervention Training designed to equip caregivers, educators, and professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond confidently, safely, and effectively during challenging situations.
Grounded in evidence-based practices from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Professional Crisis Management (PCM), our programs emphasize prevention, early recognition of escalation, and effective de-escalation strategies help reduce crisis situations, increase safety for everyone involved, and protect the dignity and well-being of the individual.
Safety and Crisis Training opportunities are available in multiple formats designed to meet the needs of families, schools, and organizations, allowing participants to gain practical skills that can be applied in everyday environments.
Programs are led by Amanda “Nicki” Kopp, M.A., BCBA, IBA, LBA, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Professional Crisis Management (PCM) Certified Instructor with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals with diverse behavioral, developmental, and communication needs across clinical, school, and community settings.
Through Empowered Pathways, organizations and families gain access to high-quality, practical training designed to build confidence, strengthen response skills, and create safer environments for everyone involved.
Our Safety and Crisis Intervention Training is designed for individuals and organizations who support children, adolescents, and adults with behavioral, developmental, or communication needs.

An introductory certification focused on nonphysical prevention and de-escalation strategies. Participants learn how to recognize early signs of escalation and respond safely using evidence-based communication and behavioral strategies.

Builds upon Basic Practitioner training by incorporating personal safety strategies along with expanded practice of prevention and de-escalation techniques.
Best for:
Schools, therapy providers, and teams seeking additional safety training.
A comprehensive certification that includes nonphysical strategies, personal safety skills, and transportation safety procedures along with practical skill demonstrations.
Best for:
Organizations and professionals who may encounter higher-risk behavioral situations.
An advanced certification designed for professionals responsible for implementing and supporting crisis intervention strategies within teams or organizations.

Participants reported significant improvements in confidence following training.
Average confidence ratings increased from 3.0–3.7 before training to 4.5–4.7 after training on a 5-point scale.
